About Lake Tekapo Scenic Resort
Lake Tekapo Scenic Resort is conveniently located in the Lake Tekapo village centre, with dining, shopping and services all within easy walking distance.
Built in 2000 as part of a restaurant and tavern complex, the accommodation business is managed separately, but with a close and co-operative relationship with the other nearby businesses. The closeness to amenities and our superb views make our resort quite special.
As your hosts since December 2003, Don and Catherine Young welcome you to our resort, and are delighted to share our fondness for the Mackenzie country. With a farming background, our priority is good old fashioned hospitality. Whether it is advising on weather conditions, booking an activity, helping a guest with their laundry, or keeping our lawns and gardens tidy, we believe it is the little things that make a difference.
Having mustered on some of the properties in the area in his youth, Don can offer some local knowledge, and a different perspective on a landscape that is also part of a unique farming industry. Catherine spent her early years on the outskirts of London, but now as an entrenched Kiwi, can offer her view of this special part of New Zealand through the eyes of someone who has experienced a different, much busier world. Along with our teenage children, David and Alice, who also pitch-in, this is a family business, but we also pride ourselves on our professionalism.
